Wished for a kick start C5!

Buy a G5.  They're shown with kick starters! ...--What do I plan to do with my lovely Iron Barrel tewdaye?  Yup, kick start it and ride to Helen Gone and back!

Rode 260 miles back from north Devon having ridden there a few days ago. The usual story - terrific ride, no problems whatsoever. When I got back I checked the fuel consumption. I do so every fill up and have done since new. Average of 89mpg over 520 miles of mixed riding from 65-70 highway to 50-55 backroads. For this alone it's the best bike I ever had. Bike drew comments everytime I stopped and even got a thumbs up from a driver I was passing. Tomorrow I shall adjust the chain and then it'll be ready for my next long trip next weekend. Happy daze!

We are living parallel bike lives Clubman. I'm just now returned from North Cornwall coast. Set off early yesterday morning across Dartmoor, and then a convoluted route avoiding trunk roads. Cook-up and beers on the beach with old friends, then back home today by similar route. Round trip of 240 miles, steady between fiifty and sixty when possible on open roads, with a five mile burst at seventy along unavoidable dual carriageway. Bike did me proud as ever, with one short stop each way, but ran for hours without a hiccup. And like yours, much admired everywhere. Alas I dropped it on arrival at friends' house - stationary, foot slipped away from me on gravel slope and the bike went over.   Small dent in headlight surround, bit of a scrape on front brake lever, but the full saddlebag took the brunt. Dammit. I'll be buying that short exhaust to compensate .......   Oh, and a new headlight surround of course.

I am sure you have yor reasons, and I would like to hear them. You know bullets more than I do, and would like your opinion over why you would choose the G5 over the C5.

To answer the questions at hand
(a) A reversal of fortunes has forced some un palatable budgetary decisions for the time being.
(b) I do prefer a solo saddle but the dual seat of the G5 is far too practical for our purposes to say no.

I may add something similar as Ice  -

I had seen beautiful pictures of C5.  I had gone to buy a C5 in my mind.  Once at the dealer guess what happened ? I did ride both.  But when I rode G5 and my son saw it had double seats (he could sit on it) and also that my dad had a similar looking Bullet 350 back home in India, G5 became more attractive.  It handles very well.  I would recommend G5 especially if you have wife or girl friend or want to take out a kid on it for short fun rides.  If you want to always ride solo then may be C5 - but don't let  anyone stop you from riding solo on G5

I turned 5000 miles not too far back and stripped off the tank knee pads yesterday.  Let's hope the weather is nice enough to commute this morning.
