I've been switching into fifth at around 43mph according to the speedo. Does that seem like too low of revs for fifth on these things. It seems fine to me and I don't go any slower than that in 5th. Just need some opinions out there.

Sounds good to me but, what do I know?

Actually that is about where I shift into 5th if I'm just putting along with traffic.

Accelerating to blend in with freeway traffic I usually shift into 5th at about 60 mph.

Yah, I meant minimum revs going into 5th. Thanks for your input though arizoni. By the way, I used to live in Tucson and boy do I miss those dessert rides down to Tombstone via the back roads. I'm envious of you GD it!

Wow! A place I have actually been to.I love Tombstone for the Birdcage,only thing real left.I especially like to visit the gunstore.All the clerks are packin'.Never been to the gunfight,seems too hokey.

Well, I got up to an indicated 88 mph today. Now I'm suspicious of the accuracy! Considering the lane I was in and the relative speed of the traffic, I suspect I was doing closer to 80. Gonna have to mount a GPS to check it out.

I'd like to be able to check the top speed before and after I install my Slip Streamer wind screen.

Rather than a GPS, why don't you invest $5.00 on a stopwatch and go out on a highway and time yourself for a mile or two and see at that results in?
I'd use that method myself and I even have the watches, but good old Cantaffordia doesn't post mile markers because the asshole taggers love to paint them.

Why not invest $5 in a bicycle speedo.

Once happy you could always remove it.
