I received an IM from Ragmas a week or so ago, asking if I wanted to write some tech articles for the newsletter. I was away on vacation last week.I told him I would contact him about doing an article when I get back, and I'm back now.The thing I'm wondering is, what is going to get in the newsletter that isn't already out all over the internet already? It seems redundant.I think the newsletter should concentrate on events and organizing little meet-ups in local and regional areas, so that riders can get together on week-ends.And it can promote or inform about swap-meets or whatever, too. And things like the Rally on the River and such.In these days of the internet, the old newsletter format is kind of out-of-date, and not as needed as it was before. If I was an Association Member, what I would want is a patch/sticker, be informed of any Club events, and maybe availability of any Club T-shirts or whatever sort of kitsch might be desired by the club. That would be all I'd need out of it.Maybe we're making it all more complicated than it needs to be.Ya sign up, get a patch, and get told where any official meet-ups are, and can buy a T-shirt or a key fob or whatever. That's it.
Works for me.
well OK then.... first off we'll dissolve this thing and just use forum membership...local groups have a better chance of survival because of their ability tohave meet ups and rides... all with the willing sponsorship of the local dealers. I'm going to use our NW members who have put together quite a group and they have Vince... lucky them; as an example. on the other hand maybe I'm making to much sense; or just talk'in shit.... seeing as how this puppie has been dissolved I guess I'm out of a job... thank you for your support- Mike
