As by bike is going to get a new head, barrel and crank tomorrow so I gave it a shot.It all happened in second gear at the speed of 68mph and the fuel supply started backing up. Just the way RE had intended to put up a barrier at 5500Rpm.
I have checked my speedo against the gps and It was out by .8km. On my speedo it was 120 and gps showed 119.2km/hr.
@SSR:Your speedometer displays Kilometers per hour - 68 kph, which is 43 mph. Then it is OK. The calculations were for C5.
No Singh Ji, I converted the figures for you guys. I hit 110kph which is 68mp
@SSR:Then the calculated vs. actual speed when rev limiter kicks in are significantly different. In that case, it may be possible to go faster than the max speed indicated in the manual .
No Singh Ji, I converted the figures for you guys. I hit 110kph which is 68mph.@ScooterBob- I dont have a crash test dummy so cant ride it for 18miles LOL. What gear did you hit the limiter?
Don't you think our C5 always amazes us with something unique and new facts when compared to the written figures My bike has done 87mph few times with a leaky valve so I am sure it can do better with a non leaky head.
I have a leaking intake valve and I am in no mood of getting anything repaired hence a new head with valves but using the present rocker arms and pushrods. Some noise from crank so barrel is getting changed along with it.Regarding the calculations, I have no clue to be honest. Looking at the figures posted in the link above, even if I am mistaken that I might be in third gear instead of 2nd gear but still I have taken 9mph more then the suggested figures to hit the limiter.I have checked my speedo against the gps and It was out by .8km. On my speedo it was 120 and gps showed 119.2km/hr.Are these calculated figures for a G5 or a C5?
Hmmmm - I have laid on the tank of the Crash Test Dummy for about 18 miles, one way, bouncing off the rev limiter ...... BORING .... Hahaha! [/quoteSmart Alec
