« on: January 09, 2011, 02:31:46 PM »
I have a 1949 RE 125 (Flying Flea) I am getting ready to restore. Can any one suggest where I might find some parts on line or any sugestions. A couple of the parts i will need are the Fork Suspensions Rubber, Large and Small.

they were actually built for the UK militry (in edinbrough scotland) and as such not sold to the public? , a lot were sold off after WW2 , to the public , they were built as the supply of DKW m/bikes had died off

note , you say a 1949 model ? , production did not last that long , so obviously a ww2 bike that has been re regestered (did you get the paracute cage?)

suggest you contact hichcocks in the uk , as they might be able to help

I was told that it was a flying flea. Its a RE 125 I guess the same as the flying Flea.  It has been in My Girlfriends Family since the Fiftys. It was last Ridden in 1963.  The only thing Missing are the Rubber for the fork suspention.
