I purchased the chrome fender supports. Unfortunately, they are prone to cracking and I had to return two sets before I got a good set. And, alas, I sold the bike a year ago to a bloke in California. He drove to Tucson in a large van and hauled it away. It broke my heart, but life happens. Hope he's enjoying it every bit as much as I did.

The seat did rise, maybe an inch. The seat height is a bit over 32" off the stand. I'm 5' 9" in bare feet with an inseam of 32", so I'm right on the edge of being able to place both feet flat on ground while at a stop, but I can do it. I know you'll enjoy turning your bike back into what it should be by undoing all the damge done by the factory since the '50s ;-) Now, if I could only get rid of that hideous starter...

Delightful! I am a new owner of a 2008 that I have plans on doing similar things to. You even have some of the snaggs ironed out for me ( how to get indicator lights when switching to a smiths speedo) I do have 2 questions. did going to that solo seat effect the seat height? would you Know what the seat height is (off the stand from ground to top of seat)
