The engine became a lot looser and smoother during the first 500 miles and the gearbox was like a completely different device. I'd read that RE's benefit from putting the miles in but I didn't expect it to be so noticeable so soon. Shame the recall put paid to anything over 500 miles but should be back this week.

seems like they brought the line of the bike up higher... not a fan of that.  it still looks damn nice though and I'm thinking about buying one too

What were the most obvious changes between mile 0 and mile 500?

Mostly people stare because they think it's a resto. Then they see the front brake and numberplate and get a bit confused. Once I explain about the bike the penny drops and all have been complimentary so far.

You will enjoy your bike very much. Tedious running in to deal with but worth taking time over it, the difference between zero and 500 miles on my bike was quite obvious.

The winshield was a throwback to my previous bike a T'Bird Sport which also had one fitted, so habit really. I'm undecided about it to be honest. I don't ride in bad weather and relatively low speeds mean it doesn't really do much. I need to allign it with the forks a bit better though.

What made you decide to put the windwhield on?  Are you happy with it?

Mouthwatering...... I've already paid for my red C-5 and am eagerly awaiting its arrival next week.  What kinds of comments do you get when you drive it around?
