Oak trunk
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: I replaced the dual seat with a single seat and a luggage rack.  Then, I built this oak box in my basement, and mounted it on the luggage rack (bolts and wingnuts).  It's easily removable, and it's good storage for maps, jacket liner, lunch, tools, etc.

Very nice job! I have been toying with a similar idea for quite some time. In times long ago, "wicker" was the thing. But I have been thinking more curvy, stressed ply panel or something. I like what you've done. I carry stuff in a tank bag and a vintage m/c lover hereabouts hates me for doing that. He says it spoils the bike's lines. And, if I look at too critically, I 'd have to agree. But a classy box like yours? What's not to love?
