Description: Now that I have the larger 4.00 x 19" tires, I was trying to decide whether to paint the rims black or leave them chrome. This is what it would look like.

Saw this pic on your Flikr account too. Most excellent. Where did you get the tail-light? Is it a vintage piece or did you get lucky on EBay? It looks great.
If you painted the rims and hub, would you powder coat them or just some auto enamel?
June 27, 2010, 06:09:24 AMhow old is your model enfield? am curious if wider tyres like one's on your bike would fit my electra, not much room between that swingarm.
April 27, 2010, 10:08:51 PMI'd stick to the chrome rims, personally. It's a sharp-looking bike, though, to be sure. The front mudguard - which I assume to be a 350 front mudguard mounted on 500 stays, to get it off those Big Manly Tires - looks cool. It's reminiscent of the mudguard on the J and J2.
September 29, 2009, 10:26:36 PMHey Chris, the tires are not from CMW. They handle great, ride very smooth. My stock front tire was too sensitive to the road for my taste. The roads aren't great in NC (getting better), but the stock front tire would catch every uneven groove, crack and patch which was a little spooky. Plus, I like the look of the bigger tires.
September 29, 2009, 10:17:23 PMHow do you like those new tires? Feel? Handling? Those are the ones from CMW? They look good! I love black rims with chrome spokes!
September 28, 2009, 08:56:31 AMThanks Chop. If I had a Military, I'd definitely put these 4.00 x 19's on it. Went for a ride this weekend and that's the first thing someone mentioned - "Wow are those military tires?"
September 28, 2009, 08:34:30 AMRims (and shocks) would looks great like that. And by great...I mean badass and tough. Really, your bike is looking cooler every time you post a picture of it here on the site. Those tires looks fantastic and I'm totally inspired to throw them up on my military now. That new ACE filter fits perfectly, good call. Looks like I've just put some new items on my 'to buy' list. Way to go, my vote: go black on the rims.
