Johnny Brittain 2011
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: Johnny Brittain won the SSDT (Scottish Six Day Trials) on a 350 Bullet in 1952 and 1957.   He won the ISDT (International Six Day Trials) in 1953 on a Royal Enfield 500 twin without dropping a single point. Overall Johnny Brittain won more than 50 trade sponsored championship events. These wins included the tough Scott and British Experts trials, which he won twice.  In 1956 he won the ACU (Autocycle Union) Star, ACU's highest honor.  The ACU fulfills a role in the UK that is similar to the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) in the U.S.  Johnny competed in the International Six Day Trials for fifteen consecutive years, winning 13 gold medals.  He was a member of the last British team to win the event in Czechoslovakia in 1953.

The British Experts Trial  open only to winners of an 'Open' in 1932.  Motor Cycling's highest honor won by J. Williams (Solo) & J H Flook (Sidecar), 46 started  34 finished!  This is a cool video.

Royal Enfield people are good people.
