Well, I certainly had a mixture of design elements that would not work for everybody. Most of the choices I made were a combo of utility (the rack) and comfort (the seat and bars).

I wasn't specifically going for a cafe look. The ace bars were because the upright riding position was very uncomfortable over 45mph and I spent a lot of time on roads at higher speeds. Personally I loved the look of the seat, it was a classic British design and was extremely comfortable. Plus the minimal step allowed me to slide back farther (I'm tall, so that was a big benefit for me).

In the end I was pleased with the look of the bike (I actually sold it last August) and how the various bits worked together. The only other change I wish I had made was rearset pegs. The downside of the ace bars was that the angle between my torso and the tops of my thighs was extreme and the position was hard on my back.
