Today I rode 125 miles on the CBR250R 'lil thumper in warm temps from 70 to 80F.  With 2,400 miles now, the motor has loosened up and is quicker and smoother than when new.  60-70mph is stable and smooth.  83mpg for the tank fill up and 83mpg since new.  The higher rpm vibrations are a different beast than what my former UCE ride had.  The numbing effect is noticeable for longer freeway blasts.  I might check out the GT this next week.

Mike, that is a big 'ol bike there!  Very nice B-)

Wifey dear has been tracking the subtle modifications I've been making to my RE and requested some easy upgrades on her Nighthawk.  So I did the turn signals:

I rode the 'lil thumper 108 miles south and east of town and got 85mpg.  At the turn-around point I doused my shirt with water, rung it out, and put it on under the jacket.  THAT made the rest of the ride comfortable, what with 80F+ and ATTGATT.

Rode my Morphous for the first time in about a month. A bit slow starting and took a while to warm up but then it was great!

Getting tired of the CBR250R's excessive high frequency vibrations and the uncomfortable ride after more than 50 miles, I purchased an '07 Moto Guzzi Breva 750, with only 1,300 miles, for less than $4k.  It is a very comfortable and powerful (for me) motorcycle.  Today's 65 mile ride was a pleasure.  The 'lil' thumper is probably up for sale, for about what this Guzzi cost.  It is nice not to have my hands going tingly and numb after long rides.

Before you dump the Honda you should have it checked out. I rode one from San Francisco to Austin, TX and back in April. My hands have been put to sleep by BMWs and Ducatis but not the Honda CBR250r. It is such a kick in the corners!

The hand-numbing is new to me.  The Honda is a nice motorcycle but does not resonate well with me at higher rpm's.  At 65mph it shows 7,000rpm's.  Even with counter-balancer, that's a lot of tingling.  The Guzzi, on the other hand, at 65mph, is around 4k rpm's.

Even though the CBR250R is faster than my C5 was, the C5's lower rpm vibe was a lot more enjoyable.

I finally got my Goose running right after a couple of weeks in the shop waiting for a part, an O2 sensor. It had really been a month or so that I got a good ride in and I missed a couple of BSA club rides while I as screwing with the beast.
Today I went down to Temecula for the MEBC breakfast, then a short ride after breakfast of which I only stuck around for half of it as they were heading back South and I didn't want to go that way and headed home. I got in 165 miles and the bike was running like new. I had them put the stock mapping in it and that seems to have cured all its ills!
Good Day!

I hope it wasn't in traffic.  I'm all for wheelies and stoppies and what not, but it pisses me off when I see people doing that shit on crowded city streets.

Oh, and people dressed on their motorcycle like they are at the beach.  That makes we want to punch those people in the face.  Morons.
